EWAENOSA DAVID OSAGIE-IGIEHON - President

Ewaenosa David Osagie-Igiehon is the chairman of the Board of 9Ja Connect. Ewaenosa is a certified risk and compliance management professional with exceptional experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit, and fraud analytics, including governance risk and compliance, and specialization in business analytics. He also specializes in data visualization and reporting, big data technologies, data modeling, information management and business intelligence.

He holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in accounting from the Ambrose Alli University, Edo, Nigeria, and a Post Graduate Diploma in management with the Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM) Business School Karnataka, India.

He was the Senior Manager of the Risk Management Unit of Investment One Financial Services Limited. He joined the team at Investment One in July 2016. He also has experience in several industries (insurance, education, transportation and information technology).

He is a recipient of the Nigerian Top Executives Award in the Financial Services & Insurance Industry, as well as multiple technical excellence awards. He was the Chairman of the Nigeria Insurers Association Risk Management and Compliance Sub-committee. He was a member of the Policy Development team for the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He is currently a Lean Performance System Facilitator with SandC Electric Canada, where he coordinates the manufacturing process to maximize the company customer delivery services. He currently volunteers with the company as an internal auditor for QMS.

EVANS DUBRE - Vice President (Founder)

Mr. Evans Dubre is the Founder and first vice president of 9Ja Connect Organization of Canada, a community driven, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting refugees, newcomers and LGBTQI+ with immigration services, literacy, information services and community programs, as well as providing assistance for those who have been sexually/physically abused and those who have experienced spousal and domestic abuse.

Evans obtained his MBBS in Medicine from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, had a certification in London UK, where he worked for years. He later migrated to Canada where he completed certifications in business analysis, project management and a diploma in immigration consulting all from colleges in Toronto. He is also an active participant in multiple community organizations in Toronto.

During his time as a newcomer, he has accessed invaluable experiences and knowledge and he is driven by compassion to see others are exposed to the same opportunity. With his own personal experience with the importance of settling down into a new culture and system it is his desire to take part and strive for a change.

9Ja Connect was founded in 2019 and in February of 2020, the organization became fully registered with the Canadian government with great support from his community, family, and friends.

ONYEWUCHI OBI - Secretary

Onyewuchi Obi is a coordinator, Settlement Support and Outreach (Black Communities), at The 519. He is one of the founding/principal partners at Obi, Oyedele & Co. law firm, past senior associate at Nzimako, Nzimako & Co., a certified safety supervisor, a project/talent manager, IT analyst and a mediator/dispute resolver.

He is a graduate of Imo State University, Owerri with a Bachelor of Laws. Obi holds a certification in Health Safety and Environment Management (QHSE), A+ and Project Management (PMP). He has worked both in the private and public sector, making his contributions to the development of the Lagos state laws during his stint at the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.

Obi supports 9Ja Connect as a secretary to the Board/organizational secretary.

JOY ENOMAYO - Treasurer

Nigerian born living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 

Joy holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and a PGD in Peace and Conflict Resolution. 

She worked as a TV broadcaster for several years before relocating to Canada where she works as a healthcare worker whose main aim is to put a smile on her clients’ faces as she tries to live up to her name.

Joy is a director with 9Ja Connect.

EMMANUEL KADIRI - Member

Emmanuel, a director of 9Ja Connect, is a student at Humber College and a facilitator of refugee information sessions with 9Ja Connect.
